Laser Hair Removal
A chilled handpiece cools the skin surface as the laser light travels through the skin to the hair follicle. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle, causing enough heat to shrivel the follicle and terminate hair growth. During the process, the hair will be destroyed and over the following days and weeks, you’ll notice the hair begin to fall out leaving the skin feeling smooth and hairless.
How does it work?
The hair you see on the skin will be removed with each treatment; your hair has a cycle so with each treatment more of the hair follicles are targeted. It’s recommended that you have a course of treatments to effectively target all of your hair follicles, It’s estimated that at any one time you can only see 30% of the hairs on the skin; the remaining 70% remain dormant which is why when you shave or wax, it’s a continual process.
It’s expected that with our new, Diode high tech laser, we will require between 6-8 treatments to effectively target all of the hair follicles. Treatments are usually booked between 6-8 weeks apart, during this period you’ll feel the next phase of growth come through on your skin surface.
While our laser hair removal machine offers maximum power our client’s comment on how comfortable treatment can be. It offers a relatively painless comfortable treatment and ensures maximum results.
Who is Laser Hair Removal For?
Laser hair removal can be used on many different skin types effectively and safely by a medically certified practitioner. At Bare Laser, we treat both men and women who wish to remove unwanted hair permanently.
Your skin type will be analysed at your consultation and honest advice given as to the effectiveness of the laser treatment.
As with many procedures including massage and fat freezing we’ll ask you to fill out a health screening questionnaire to find out if you suffer from any conditions which may require a specific treatment type. One condition which would require ongoing maintenance and an ongoing treatment plan is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or PCOS.
